I created Gopooja in the beginning of 2008. I am also the Owner of Les
Herbes, ltd, and the American Institute for Aromatherapy and Herbal Studies
www.aromatherapyinst.com Through my purchases of essential oils
in India, I made some contacts, and decided to sell products from India,
with the eventual goal of purchasing and selling products from all parts of
Asia. I also wanted to specialize in handmade items, that would be
ecologically friendly, while helping artisans of India to survive, using
Fair Trade philosophies. The artisans I met while traveling through Rajasthan
were making beautiful
handcrafted items, and I was amazed at their skills.I then decided to concentrate on those artisans and avoid most of the
commercial areas. My travels took me through small villages - some had never even seen a foreigner -
in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ranakpur, Bishnoi, and then Goa, and my website is a
reflection of my travels, which sent me on a wild shopping journey, while
experiencing the incredible spirituality that exists in India, and meeting
people that have changed and enriched my Life in all ways.I hope to continue to travel back to India, and bring back more treasures and unique items. The picture
below shows me among some villagers who invited me into their home in
Jodhpur.
Namaste,

Jacqueline Moser - Senior Buyer
Jacqueline is also known as "Jac", and is a recent addition to Gopooja. Jac
lives in Goa, India where she plans to open an Auyrvedic center combined
with a Guest House. She has been studying Ayurveda for quite some years,
and continues to improve her knowledge through numerous trips to Kerala,
other parts of India, and the world, taking classes and courses with some of
the most revered teachers of Auyrvedic medicine.
Jac's uncomparable taste for fabrics, their quality and workmanship is
extremely important to our company, as well as her flair for the beautiful,
exotic, and unique. She is multi-talented, but her best feature is a
boundless generosity. On the picture is Jac visiting the "Monkey Temple" in
Jaipur.

I also want to thank Ted Moser (Jac's husband) who patiently accompanied us
throughout our trips to Jaipur and Jodhpur, and was a terrific financial
advisor, as well as a joyful travel companion. Ted is an Engineer by
profession, and is also Jac's business partner in the formation of their
Auyrvedic Center in Goa.

and, finally, THANK YOU to my chauffeur, bodyguard, and best Indian friend with many names: Raj, Raju, Raj-sa, Big Monkey, who made me love India, and made it all possible for me. Raj was invaluable in introducing me to small artisans, villagers, and the people of India. His immense energy, gentleness, generosity, and laughter made my trip not only enjoyable, but also informative. He took me places never traveled, showing me the magic of India. Traveling together closely for a whole month made us share a lot of things together, and a new friendship was born. Raj also was my teacher and helped me understand and respect India's spirituality. He taught me how to feed the sacred cows in the early morning, before we took on the road, asked for blessings for my friends and I while in his care, he never failed to show India with all its colors and not just the tourist one, and I learned a little bit of Hindi... the journey was marked. I would seriously recommend Raj as a chauffeur and guide... he will take excellent care of you. Contact us for further information.
